She's like the girl in the movie when the Spitfire falls
Like the girl in the picture that he couldn't afford
She's like the girl with the smile in the hospital ward
Like the girl in the novel in the wind on the moors

Although the rest of California government has passed the gay marriage bill, Governer Schwarzenegger has said he will veto it. He's basing this on a five-year-old Proposition in which 61% of voters said that marriage is defined as between a man and a woman.

However, the authors of the bill have decided to delay delivering the bill for two weeks to allow supporters of the bill to contact Schwarzenegger and tell him how they feel.

If you have the time and inclination, please help in the efforts to show the Governor that a five-year-old vote may not reflect the current views of Californians.

A paper letter will carry the most weight, followed by a phone call and then e-mail. But any and all correspondence, no matter what type, will help!

Contact Information

Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger
State Capitol Building
Sacramento, CA 95814
Phone: 916-445-2841
Fax: 916-445-4633
To send an Electronic Mail please visit: http://www.govmail.ca.gov

"To help us keep track of correspondence and to ensure that we are able to respond to California residents, please be sure to include your name and address when you communicate with the Governor's Office. We do not accept e-mail attachments."

More info available in this news article.

Additionally, you can call and go through a very brief automated list (I think I was done in less than a minute):

1. Call the Governor: 916-445-2841 (This number is listed at http://www.governor.ca.gov)
2. Push: 2 (voice your opinion on legislation)
3. Push: 1 (gender-neutral marriage bill - Senate Bill 849)
4. And push: 1 to support marriage equality

(Phone info copied from Rachel Heslin's journal. Other than that and obviously quoted text, I wrote the above text—none of it was a forward to me.)
