2005-11-10 10:09 PM Random kisses In further proof that Ken is The Best Husband Ever, he brought me flowers at work today. Just because. (He has a rule that he never gives flowers to apologize for anything—too clichéd.) Just because he knew I needed a pick-me-up, and because he wanted to see me. So we sat outside on a bench and canoodled for a bit.
And just to disgust you all a little bit more, he made a kick-ass supper last night, making a crunchy lemon chicken dish and parmesan roasted potatoes, both recipes we hadn’t tried before. We had steamed broccoli with it, and invited Morgana over to share it all, as Brian’s out of town. (Oh, and the flowers are purpley-pink-tipped carnations. I don’t much care for the scent of carnations, but the color is teeth-achingly gorgeous.) <>-<>-<> Can anyone recommend a good booklight? It needs to be reasonably light, have a big enough clip to go on a laptop (and not so strong a clip that it damages said laptop), be reasonably inexpensive, and not crap out in a week. Something that takes a standard sized battery and bulb would be awfully nice. The last one I bought, for $10 at Borders, did that crapping-out-in-a-week thing, without any sort of replaceable bits, and We Were Not Amused. <>-<>-<> Ooh, the cover flat for Sex…in the Kitchen arrived! I need to scan these puppies, don’t I? And then get them framed… Just too spiffy cool. ---
Currently Reading: All Eve’s Hallows, Dean Wesley Smith (yes, I was reading Wilde Side, but I got distracted—I mean, c’mon, a new Dean book); the most recent Realms of Fantasy (because it took me forever to get through an interminably long story that really didn’t have a strong enough point to justify its length, blah) Read/Post Comments (0) Previous Entry :: Next Entry Back to Top |
