2005-12-21 11:59 PM Solstice light Words Written: ALNM about 250 words on the new scene, maybe 500? words in the Prologue and Chapter 1
I wrote 919 words last night in bed. I was hoping for 1K, but I finished the scene that had been beating around inside my head like a trapped bird, trying to get out, and since it’s for a collab novel, I didn’t have anywhere to go just yet. Of course, after I put Afalwen in the office, crawled back into bed, read for a bit, and turned off the light, I thought of a few more paragraphs to add. So it was kind of a 1K day, in a way. Today, I’m going to review the Prologue and Chapter 1 that Sarah sent, make edits/suggestions, add the scene I wrote, and get it all fired back to her. And figure out what I need to write next on that book. We want to get the new proposal out to the editor soon (although at this point, I don’t see any sense sending it before Xmas). Then I need to pull together my proposal for DFL and get it ready to send out next week to an editor and an agent. <>-<>-<> This afternoon we both went to Morgana and Brian’s for a Solstice tea. It was just the four of us and Thomasina, and since we’re all sick, Ken decided to attend, because there was no chance of infecting anybody. Since we were all sick, it was quiet and mellow: we sipped very good tea (the house blend from Bettys and Taylors in York, England), nibbled cookies and sweets, and talked. We put a few more ornaments on their tree, although I sadly managed to send a crystal one to its doom (it was on a ribbon, which untied itself while I was holding it). A very pleasant time (except for the doomed ornament). I hope the shortest day and longest night of the year has been pleasant for you all, too. Tonight I’ll leave a candle burning for those who’ve gone before and those who are too far away. From the darkness now comes the light. May the light shine favorably on your endeavors, your life, and your love. ---
