Well, just to add a wrinkle to my plans, I may be switching books midstream so I’ll have something for the May Novel Workshop. Argh, I say! Argh! I’ll update when I’ve made a decision…or admit that I’ve completely lost my mind. Rejection today from Orson Scott Card’s Intergalactic Medicine Show. Ah well. It’s a weird story, so I’m not surprised it’s being hard to place. <>-<>-<> In other news, Ken’s still home. Finishing up various projects, like fixing a couple of computers for a friend and rewiring the helmets with the new intercom system. He swears he’s leaving tomorrow. Really. <>-<>-<> I’m started to get excited about my birthday. I’m flying up to Portland on Tuesday the 4th, and we’ll stay that night in Ken’s hotel. The next day, we’re going up to Washington and spending the night at Hoquiam’s Castle B&B, a Victorian hotel. Thursday (my actual birthday), we’ll head south along the coast to Oregon, and stay that night at Heceta Head Lighthouse B&B, in one of the last lightkeeper’s cottages on the Pacific Coast. Both look utterly gorgeous, and the latter has a seven-course breakfast! Along the way, we’ll do some whale watching, sea lion gazing, beachcombing, and maybe tour the Tilamook Cheese Factory (although that could be dangerous. It would be bad for me to get arrested on my 40th birthday for diving headfirst into a vat of cheese.). I’ll spend the weekend in Lincoln City at a writing workshop, which seems appropriate, somehow. The following weekend is my party here at home. Ken’s arranged a hall, and Forever Twelve (Cat’s band) will be playing. I’ve finally gotten my invitations designed, and I’ll get them all printed tomorrow. If you think you should be getting one, and don’t see it in a reasonable amount of time, e-mail me and let me know. Ken will be flying back for the party. :-) ---
