2006-04-05 12:52 PM Pain bad. No pretty. Done something very bad to my back/hip. Went to my chiropractor Friday and again on Monday. He wanted me to come back today but I was flying to Portland yesterday.
Flew to Portland with searing pain shooting from my left hip down my thigh. Sitting is excruciating. Standing/walking and lying down okay. Slept extremely poorly. Pain bad. No pretty. Went to a chiropractor here this morning. Lots of adjustment, ultrasound, and e-stim. Still hurting, but might be slightly better. Have cancelled reservation at Victorian hotel in Washington. Intend to stay in Portland hotel room with ice pack, herbal anti-inflammatory pills, and rented DVDs. If I’m better tomorrow, we’ll go to the lightkeeper’s cottage B&B and salvage the rest of my birthday trip. If not, we’ll regroup from there. I could go to the chiro again on Friday morning. I just don’t want to be in astonishing amounts of pain during the workshop. Could cry, or could laugh. Lying on a chiro table, left buttcheek exposed and smeared with goop for the ultrasound/e-stim, is, honestly, a pretty damn funny situation to be in. So I chose to laugh.
