2006-07-05 11:59 PM Clever Words Written: “Storming the Castle” 1633
Writing Stats: Received payment for “On Tour” and ½ of “The Brinks Job” (as Sophie Mouette), both in Sex on the Move. Submitted “What Price Beauty?” to Hub, as it was rejected yesterday by Son & Foe. Submitted the newly complete Sophie story “Make Me Come at the Ball Game” to Sex in Public. Sent a loooooong e-mail to Sarah about ALNM. Exercise: resting my back right now Hope everyone had a great 4th of July! I painted my nails red and blue for the occasion. Morgana and Tomi and I watched the 4-hour BBC miniseries The Virgin Queen (about Elizabeth I) and 1982’s The Scarlet Pimpernel (Jenn, I thought of you!), ate veggies & dip and cheesy toast rounds and cherries and Godiva Belgian dark chocolate ice cream, went out to dinner at Chili’s, and watched some of the fireworks out the kitchen window. The past few days have been ups and downs of working and not-working. Odd and mildly annoying. My back has been hurting, so I haven’t been working out. The chiropractor today was amazed at how quickly my muscles stopped spasming (and I hadn’t even been aware that they were, exactly—only that I hurt) after he whapped me with the nerve-whapper thingie. Apparently my body is a quick learner. Or something. Monday I went to Textile Guild and worked on mundane projects, including handsewing sparkly trim on a boring shirt. I’m not quite done, but that’s what next week’s Textile Guild is for, right? I just need to stop myself before I sew interesting trim on all my boring shirts. Right? Tuesday I grumbled and was essentially hermit-like. Today I was essentially hermit-like except for the chiro appt, but I got quite a bit done, including soaking in a hot bath full of rose milk, finishing a story, and other things too mundane to chronicle. Tomorrow shall be much of the same, with the addition of a Shire meeting, at which I will stubbornly not volunteer for anything for the sake of everyone’s sanity. <>-<>-<> Lots of my friends have stories in Hags, Sirens, and Other Bad Girls of Fantasy, which was just released. I’ve read some of them and they’re awesome! and I’m sure the rest are, too. (Note to self: book shopping!) Recommended! ---
