As reported earlier, yes...there were jawas. And storm troopers. And belly dancers. And so on and so forth. I was a guest again this year, despite my measly credits, and I was on four panels. Incidentally, this is the last time I don't make suggestions for panel topics or request any changes to which panels I'm on. I was called upon to speak about such exciting topics as "Making the Transition from Technical Writing to Science Fiction". Sounds exciting, huh? So the programming was weak overall, but the most enjoyable parts, as is usually the case with cons, were the times just hanging out in the lobby, jawing with other writers. I think it's probably a good idea to limit my con attendance to two per year. I don't think I'll be flying up to Toronto for this year's WorldCon, but I'm strongly considering World Fantasy Con in D.C. later this year.
