A couple of considerations... I heard on my local news coverage last night that many people were already requesting information from the military in Texas about how to send soldiers care packages. The military basically said, "Wait a little while." They noted security concerns (mail bombs and anthrax), but mostly these guys are screaming across the desert in planes and tanks. There are hardly any stable posts to distribute mail, so its unlikely that if you sent something to a particular soldier in a tank division right now that it would actually get to them. Still, Books for Soldiers is a splendid idea, though from the way things are looking, you might want to send something slender, rather than a fat Russian novel. Actually, it would seem best to send books along for the occupying force. They might actually be there a while. Read/Post Comments (0) Previous Entry :: Next Entry Back to Top |
