2004-10-01 9:18 AM Debate Alert: Wesley Clark is a Douchebag Previous Entry :: Next Entry Read/Post Comments (12) I watched The Daily Show's live after-debate show, and in addition to not being very funny it featured an interview with Wesley Clark in which Stewart asked him whether it would have been a mistake to engage in bilateral talks with North Korea, rather than multilateral ones.
Clark said something like, "Oh sure. It actually weakened our position. We showed the world that we couldn't deal with North Korea ourselves, and that we needed China's help. The Right Wing people in Washington didn't want to do anything that looked like what Clinton did." I'm sorry, but what a friggin' douchebag. I'm glad this guy didn't get anywhere close to being nominated. He really thinks that bilateral talks were good policy? That if we had bribed North Korea with money for a few more years that would have been effective in halting their nuclear program? The hypocrisy of calling Bush policy "unilateral", while criticizing his approach to North Korea, is really unbelievable. And utterly stupid.
