One of the terms that bugs the crap out of me is when people refer to themselves as "spiritual".

Oh, I'm not a religious person, but I'm very spiritual. This strikes me as essentially a vapid, meaningless term. If you mean that a person is humble, self-aware, empathetic...fine, say those things.

Saying someone is "spiritual" makes it sound like they're in touch with the netherworld.

So for anyone who describes themselves this way, what the hell does it mean? Are you trying to say you commune with the spirit world? That you're just filled with joo-joo nebulous feel-good energy not detectable by modern instrumentation?
