I'm Jim Farris with The Monday "Off The Top Of My Head Monday's" Monday edition. I see that Douglas Lain posted something yesterday. I know you're all asking, "Who is Douglas Lain?" Remember? Douglas Lain used to be a writer here at "Silly Thinking" and he obviously still has the security codes. We welcome all comments and postings here but will be changing the security procedures soon. And speaking of Douglas Lain, he and I went to see "The Matrix Revolutions" over the weekend. Wow! What a pile of poo! How they could turn the most original sci-fi movie, one of the most thought provoking pieces of cinema in years, into a hack job of this low caliber is a really good question. "The Matrix" has now become a sluggish, inept, grade B war movie with garish special effects, lousy dialog, and a subpar storyline that sinks below the level of a low brow film such as "Starship Troopers". I havent seen a film franchise self destruct this quickly since Warner Brothers messed up "Batman". But even that seemed like it was sliding down hill slowly, getting worse with each ponderous star studded crap cake they made. This fall came out of nowhere. "Matrix Reloaded" was not up to the first film but I thought it was still well made and interesting. But "Revolutions" is just a shockingly awful bore. If you haven't seen it I suggest waiting for the DVD (it should be out... tommorow) If you have... What did you think? Did Anyone like it? Why? Anybody but Douglas is welcome to share their thoughts.
