Your host: Dead Announcer. DA: Hello alive people and welcome to “A Few Moments With Dead Celebrities”. Today we have a real treat for you, everybody’s nosy aunt, and the voice of dozens of Disney’s classic human and animal characters: Miss Verna Felton! VF: Hello dead announcer, hello ladies and gentlemen. DA: Hello Verna Felton. Welcome to “A Few Moments With Dead Celebrities”. VF: It’s a pleasure. DA: You know Verna, I remember you on “December Bride” with Spring Byington. Was that a fun program to work on? VF: Well Spring was a treat, and of course Harry Morgan, who went onto to play Col. somebody on “MASH”. He was on the show. DA: Fine character actor. VF: Couldn’t keep his hands off me. The man was a letch. I slapped him every week and he just kept coming back for more. One day I through him against a wall at Desilu, he was a small boned person you know, and just beat the holy crap out of him. Beat him within an inch of his life. Hell, these days he’d be in prison, the little shit, but in those days all a lady could do is beat the crap out of the little cocksucker and pray he got the message. DA: And… VF: He did. DA: Now Verna, when did you start doing all those marvelous voices at Disney? VF: At scale prices mind you. Disney, that cheap bastard. Anyway, I think it was “Cinderella”, or maybe “Alice”. You know I did “Bibbidy Bobbity Boo”? DA: Yes, So memorable. VF: No. it was “Dumbo”. It was my first elephant. Walt always saw me as an elephant. A big huge elephant. Cheap bastard. DA: And then… VF: I played an elephant in “Jungle Book” too. Walt never forgot me, “Oh..” he’d say, “..a big fat elephant who will work at low pay. Call Felton!” Prick. DA: You sound bitter. VF: You haven’t heard bitter little man. DA: Well, were just about out of time. What was your favorite character? VF: Well, the ferry godmother in “Cinderella” was a nice part. But I always likes the Aunt with the Siamese cats in “Lady And The Tramp”. DA: That was a dozy. VF: Yes, a dozy. If it wasn’t an elephant it was a pudgy little lady. Walt always remembered. That son of a bitch. DA: Well, thank you Verna Felton. My goodness, that wasn’t much now was it? Well anywho join us again on our ‘Cavalcade of the Dead’ right here at ST. Bye for now. STIS…DEAD!
