STNews presents

This is an ST News Update.

Here, from our New York World News Headquarters in New Jersey, is Connie Chung.

CC: Good evening. This has been a busy news day. Tonight we will bring you up to date on the situation at Mt. St. Helens, and do a concise analysis of the vice presidential debate between V.P. Dick Cheney and vice presidential candidate John Edwards.
But first some sad news from the world of show business.

Comedian Rodney Dangerfield has died at age 82 after unsuccessful heart surgery.
Dangerfield started his career in comedy late in life, doing stand up comedy after several jobs in sales. Rodney Dangerfield became an American comedy legend after becoming a top billed star in Las Vegas and appearances on the Johnny Carson Tonight Show and many other TV programs.
Then, at a time when others might be retiring, became a movie star with films like “Caddyshack” and
“Back To School”, at age 65.
Self deprecating humor was his style and the phrase I dont get no respect, no respect at all ... has entered the lexicon of English phraseology.
Rodney Dangerfield, dead tonight at 82.

CC: Now on to Mt St. Helens. The mountain changed today with a huge eruption that scientists warn is still not even close to the big one.
Silly Thinking’s Jim Farris is there.

JF: Yes Connie, some scientists say after today’s explosion that the magma is inching close to the surface but we still might have several more days and weeks of this kind of explosions before a large eruption occurs. Some say we may not have a large defining big one at all. But these movements that spray ash and gas thousands of feet in the air and change the topography of this area are incredible to watch. Connie.

CC: Jim, we will stay with the volcano story until Jesus, a dinosaur, or giant moths or ants appear on the surface.

JF: Connie, no one, no one is saying that. Except you.

CC: Now onto to tonights vice presidential debate.
Most pundits and watchers say this debate was a draw.
Here with more is my co-host for these events, the man who played the President in the movie “Independence Day”, Bill Pullman.
Good evening Bill.

BP: Connie.

CC: Bill, when you were president aliens attacked the country and you went on to fight the monsters and get re elected. When monsters emerge from the volcano, do you think Bush can defeat them?

BP: …

CC: Like you did in the movie?

BP: Uhh, sure.

CC: That will be interesting to watch, dont you think?

BP: Yeah, Connie, yeah. Great fun.

CC: Yes.

BP: Uhm, the debate?

CC: Oh. Who won?

BP: It was a draw, I think …

CC: Thank you Bill. See you Friday night for the next Presidential debate.

BP: …

CC: Be seeing you.

ST IS!
