STNews presents

An ST News Update.

Here, from our New York World News Headquarters in New Jersey, is Connie Chung.

CC: Good morning, this is an ST News Update on the impending volcano eruption at Mt. St Helens in Washington state.
The USGS has just reported that magma, lava, HAS broken through to the surface of the Mt. St. Helens crater.
Jim Farris just left a USGS press conference at the mountain.
Jim…

JF: Good morning, Connie. Yes, rock that showed up last night through thermal imaging has revealed that a 5 to 600 degree centigrade, that’s 1000 degree Fahrenheit, rock is on the surface of the volcano. it’s about 20 to 40 meters long.

CC: Jim, is it lava or magma?

JF: Magma is lava under the surface, so it’s both. But this lava is not flowing like a Hawaiian volcano. It’s sill very hot rock. If more comes out, which is likely, it will blow or flow from the volcano. The cold atmosphere at the surface, there is an ice glacier there, keeps the rock hard.

CC: So where do we stand at this hour Jim?

JF: The scientists want to fly a drone airplane, an unmanned glider, into the volcano to research what exactly is happening. But they feel that more magma will come to the surface and will either explode or flow at that time. But it is moving on the crater floor now. It is probably the first of several waves that will come to the surface in the coming weeks.

CC: None of this is funny so…

JF: Wait a minute Connie. This is news reporting, you are the one who always seems to make it funny. Mentioning monsters, Jesus, and aliens.

CC: Not funny.

JF: It’s not supposed to be funny.

CC: Well bravo Henny Youngman. You’ve succeeded.

JF: Connie, I can be funny, but this is not supposed to be…

CC: (YAWN) Oh, I’m sorry are you talking?

JF Not anymore.

CC: Stay safe Jim and loosen up, for Christ’s sake.
Join us tomorrow for ST’s exclusive coverage of the last presidential debate from Tempe, Arizona.
Be seeing you.

ST IS!
