ST Season Premiere!

STShowcase!

Here is your host, Hal Holbrook.

HH: Happy Sunday Silly Thinkers and welcome to the season premiere of ST Showcase, I'm your host Hal Holbrook.
As many of you know the domestic diva, Martha Stewart, started serving her time in prison last week.
We here at the Showcase thought it would be a good time to look at the story we ran the day she was sentenced, so now, let's buckle our seat belts for a magic carpet ride on our ST time machine, to July of 2004 for "Martha Stewart Goes to Prison".

This is STBREAKING NEWS:
Martha Stewart Goes to Prison.

Here, from our New York World News Headquarters in New York is Connie Chung.

CC: Good morning. Earlier today, domestic diva and billionaire household wiz Martha Stewart was sentenced for her illegal stock trading to 5 months in prison and five more months of supervised in home incarceration.
Stewart stated she will appeal the sentence and thanked her supporters while degrading the proceedings to "a personal matter blown out of all proportions".
Stewart is the first high profile celebrity who will serve hard time in a growing trend of celebrity imprisonment. The Los Angeles Lakers star Kobe Bryant, actor Robert "Beretta" Blake, Enron CEO Ken "Kenny Boy" Lay, news anchor Dan "what are the codes Kenneth?" Rather, and TV host Maury Povich, are all celebrities who will, should, or could, be serving time in the near future.
To help us understand what kind of life Martha Stewart will have in prison, we have a another former celebrity who served time, Number Six, "The Prisoner" himself.
Good morning number Six.

6: I AM NOT A NUMBER! I'M A FREE MAN!

CC: Of course you are, number Six. What kind of life will Martha Stewart be facing in the big house, or "the village" as you would call it?

6: You won't get it. I won't give it to you. Who are you?

CC: Number Six, did you find your incarceration to be, maybe in just a small way, a positive thing?

6: Why yes, of course. That's what you want me to say isn’t it? ISN'T IT?

CC: Do you think she'll adjust and perhaps run for office as you did in prison?

6: WHERE IS THIS PLACE AND WHO ARE YOU? I AM A MAN, NOT A NUMBER!

CC: Do you think Martha's sentencing and trial was fair?

6: NO. Of course not. Oh, I'm not supposed to say that am I? YOU DON'T WANT TO ME TO SAY WHAT I REALLY THINK! AM I FREE TO LEAVE? I AM A FREE MAN. AM I FREE TO LEAVE?

CC: Number Six, calm down, calm down, just take a look.

6: WHO ARE YOU? WHO ARE YOU?

CC: I am number two.

6: Who is Number One?

CC: You are number six. Why don't you just return to your cottage and drink some drugged coffee while we prepare a psychedelic croquet match or something.

6: YOU WON'T GET IT!

CC: Fine, thank you, Number Six. He is as tough as they say. We'll have much more on this breaking story here on Village Thinking. For now this is Number Two. Be seeing you.
