The Road To Election Day. Here, from our New York World News Headquarters in New Jersey, is chief meteorologist, and senior fellow at Fellows and Gals University Dan Rather Center for Fictional Journalism: Connie Chung. CC: Good afternoon and welcome to “The Road To Election Day”, I’m Connie Chung. BP: And I’m the man who played the President in “Independence Day”, Bill Pullman. CC: Good afternoon, Bill. BP: Good afternoon, Connie. CC: Well the election is coming into the home stretch, and already an echo of 2000 is raising it’s ugly head. There are already voting problems in Florida and Democrats have filed 10 lawsuits against the Republican controlled election board there. There are charges of mishandled voting machines and voter registration in several states. Bill. BP: That’s right Connie. The 2004 election was supposed to stop the fraud that resulted in George W. Bush becoming this countries first appointed Chief Executive, but many problems remain. Computer voting, using Diebold machines, gives no one a receipt and the companies President says you don’t need one, the machines are flawless. CC: That’s bull shit right Bill? BP: Bull shit indeed Connie Chung. The company is run by a partisan Republican who has gotten favors from the Bush White House. Some states have outlawed the machines, others, like Florida, are going with them, causing an army of observers from both sides to over see the election. CC: This election day will have more observers that Afghanistan. BP: Yes. Jesse Jackson has asked Afghan warlords to come and be observers. CC: Afghan warlords indeed. BP Indeed. CC: Stay with us, and join me tomorrow with my One on One interview with that lesbian terrorist Mary Cheney. Be seeing you. ST IS! Read/Post Comments (0) Previous Entry :: Next Entry Back to Top |
