A Special Report. THE PRESIDENTIAL INAUGURATION. Here, from the National Mall in Washington D.C. is Chief ST News Anchor and Senior meteorologist, Connie Chung. CC: Good afternoon. George W. Bush has taken the oath of office and is now reinstalled as the President of The Unites States. Bill Pullman, the man who played the President in the film “Independence Day” joins me now. Bill, what did you think of the President’s speech? BP: I think he gave a good speech, in keeping with the theme of freedom. Freedom for Americans and all people by intruding on the lives of many with military actions and killing them. CC: Do you think this President will take on terrorism and dictatorial governments in other parts of the world? BP: I think he will try. You know Connie, war is the worse thing we can do to one another. Bush, Rumsfeld, and Cheney have never been to war, they don’t know what’s it like. So they are comfortable putting men and women in harm’s way. You must address that death with more than words. This President sees war as necessary to fight evil by being, in the eyes of many, evil him self. CC: Today is a day steeped in history and tradition. Did you see the beautiful crystal bowls and photos the President and Vice President received at their luncheon? BP: Yeah, great. They were beautiful. Just great. As men and women die in their names they exchange crystal bowls. Touching. CC: The Inaugural parade will begin shortly, then it’s party time. BP: Yes Connie, Bush will fiddle as Rome burns. CC: And the national press will be there to comment on the gowns and music. By the way, who are you wearing today Bill? BP: Fuck you. CC: Still bitter. We will have more as the day drags on and on. For now, I’m Connie Chung. Be seeing you. ST NEWS. Read/Post Comments (0) Previous Entry :: Next Entry Back to Top |
