DuffieMoon A Bit of Randomness Most people go through life dreading they'll have a traumatic experience. Freaks were born with their trauma. They've already passed their test in life. They're aristocrats. --Diane Arbus |

2005-02-23 7:11 PM Doctor's Advice Having had urinary tract problems since I was born, I'm very used to the advice "drink lots of water." So when the expanding uterus made my trips to the bathroom even more frequent, I made sure I was getting plenty of water (so as to keep my system all flushed out and all).
But then I'm at the doctor's today and I'm telling her that I'm drinking upwards of two liters of liquids per day but that my body isn't acting like I'm drinking that much. Add to that the fact that I'm dizzy lately when I stand up and (huge suprise) nauseous a lot of the time. I assumed I wasn't getting enough liquids and she would hopefully tell me how to get more. Nuh uh. Instead, she said I may be drinking TOO MUCH and that my body isn't able to process it and that because of all the liquids (specifically water) I may not be getting enough nutrients and that's why I'm getting dizzy and nauseous more often on some days than others. Weird. So I'll try *not* drinking lots of water and instead substituting juices and milk. But it just sounds weird to me. Then again, I don't have the experience and training regarding women and pregnancy so why not trust that she may know what she's talking about?
