Yesterday, I went to the daycare during lunch so Dylan could nurse (like I do most days). But yesterday, she fell asleep on the way in and didn't wake up before I left the daycare. So she was apparantly quite fussy that morning. When she saw me at lunch, she immediately stopped crying and broke out into a biiiiig grin.

We went off to our corner and commenced our business. I talked and sang to her as she nursed and she, more than usual, would stop and look up and smile at me. Smile and babble. Sooo cute. And always my favorite part of the day.

Then, at one point, she was looking up at me, babbeling and smiling. She paused for a moment in her chatter, stared at me and then she said, "mom" and grinned. I *know* it was just a coincidence that those were the sounds she strung together. I know that it's waaaaay too early for actual speech. But damn if I didn't get all misty eyed anyway.

I freakin' love that kid.
