Provided I don't get a phone call next week saying I failed something, I get a degree next weekend. I'm not sure how I feel yet--I mean, I expected to be jubilantly thrilled, and instead it's oddly...anti-climactic. I think I just need to catch up on lots of sleep, and all will be well.
On Tuesday Sean and I went to go see the Reverend Horton Heat. It was a really good show, but there were way too many people! I kept popping outside to grip some cooler air. The music was fantabulous, though. And on Wednesday we went to see X-Men 2. I rather enjoyed it. I like the little gems they keep dropping into the movies for people who read the comic (like having "Hank McCoy" on the news show in the bar, and having Colossus helping the kids at the school) and I like that they try to keep the general ideas and the characters from the comic intact, without being so wedded to the comic storyline that the movie suffers. And I'm looking forward to the special effects for Phoenix--I think they've done a great job making the special effects so far *not* look like cheesy cgi. (It's a shame about how serious and penitent they made Nightcrawler, though--who is this guy? Where's the fun?) I do wonder about how they are going to justify the Phoenix story-line, trying to link it to what happened at Ellis Island in the last movie? Seems kinda lame at the moment...though I really liked Phoenix, so I won't be complaining too much. At any rate, I'll have more later, including (finally) an operational poetry ordering site (!!), sometime in the middle of next week. Until then, let's find out where you should plan to visit me in the next century: The Dante's Inferno Test has banished you to the Second Level of Hell! Here is how you matched up against all the levels:
