They bring in a good crowd, they start promptly, they end at 12:30 (both nights) and the crowd mostly clears by 1. I was home before 2 both nights, which is important when you have to work a day job the next day.
The Argument (with Bleu) was a good night too. The Argument played first up at the restored Met, and came down for an acoustic set at about 11 bringing the crowd with them. Then Bleu played for about an hour, and that was that. I hadn't heard of Bleu, apparently they had a song on the Spider-man soundtrack. I am still embarassingly clue-free. The car is costing more than anticipated to get up to snuff, and the work is being done in shifts. I've gotten all the critical stuff done. The only problem with this is that money is on my mind--I've had two arguments in the last three weeks with Sean which as I think about it were caused or exacerbated by my concerns about money... That said, Sean has been an absolute sweetie. He's gotten up and taken me to work so I wouldn't have to pay for parking (and get my inevitable parking tickets), he's cooked dinner on the days I was going from one job to the other so I could run home and eat between jobs, he's done the dishes so I wouldn't have to think about them. So in the big picture he doesn't deserve to be the outlet of my stress. (Though I will contend that my complaints are not entirely unfounded simply because I am touchier than usual.) Of course, the truly big thing yesterday was celebrating Andy and Kirsten's wonderful marriage. The wedding was lovely, with a short and touching ceremony and great food afterwords. This official reception was followed many hours later by a second reception at Pleasant Street, which was a fun way to do it. Lots of people, many of whom I hadn't seen in a while--I can't wait to see some of the pictures. Read/Post Comments (0) Previous Entry :: Next Entry Back to Top |
