Tip of the Iceburg You always say, bring you street-life, bring you real-life, that one man's desperate and mundane existance is another man's... techni-color. [[strange days]] |

2001-08-26 9:28 AM we've got the beet So, by pixie-time, tomorrow is actually two days away...
Yesterday was one of the busiest days I've had in while. By 'busiest' I mean, I had a chance to get lots of stuff that I wanted to get done... *done* Anyway. The 80's was a frightening decade. Ten years of big hair, hoop earrings, gloves with no fingers, matching color coordinated socks, Flashdance, electronic music, republicans, real music on MTV, jordasch jeans, Thriller, Billie Jean, Converse shoes with matching socks, Depeche Mode, Wham, polo shirts with blazers, rolled up jeans, parachute pants, The Cars... What brings all this to mind? I went to this party yesterday. I'm still undecided on weather the party was good or bad. There was lots of memorable music, very fun to dance to, but if I was old enough to have been doing drugs at the time, much of the night's festivities could have been considered a bad flashback. Some of the get-ups were pretty classic... Imagine this. Walk inside. There was a girl with a Barbie-pink angora-fuzzy mini-skirt, black sweater, black fishnets, Barbie-pink angora-fuzzy ankle warmers, black high-heels, carrying a black faux leather bag with a chain for strap and dancing by the uber-huge-boom-box in the front room. It was like being in Sixteen Candles or Heathers or something. mmm. Revisiting the 80s, not for the faint of heart. Anyway. Until next time, eat your cereal with a fork and do your homework in the dark... This is pixie, signing off. Previous Entry :: Next Entry Back to Top |
