The ferrets are: tired Weather: cooling off Reading: Ghost Country, Sarah Paretsky Listening to in the car: only my own very crowded head I have been planting things. I have also been eating things that I planted on other days. This is what encourages me to keep on planting things. We are eating three varieties of lettuce and some radishes. It's fun. Saturday Oldest Kid and I made jam, five batches, strawberry kind. While we did this, DH and son took apart what was already made, mainly, and redid and excavated and fininshed and filled with new-made planting mix a 2 x 10 foot raised (and excavated to make it deep) bed. It has a trellis running through/over it. I planted things in it on Monday, which was a holiday. I planted cucumbers and tomatoes and Oregon Blue Lake green beans. And some other stuff, duplicates of the lettuces and radishes that are doing so well elsewhere. Gregg's (DH's) hop looks as if it's not going to make it. Oh and I planted some morning glories and I moved pots of roses about. And then yesterday Son moved away. He took most of hius stuff into his truck and drove away, moving to Louisiana. Why is another story. A sad one. He was only here for a month. He;ll come back home again, but I dn't know when. He has what he consideresd to be a duty there and will pursue it. I'm proud of him. |
