Guruzilla's /var/log/knowledge-junkie ["the chatter of a missionary sysadmin"] 2002-03-07 1:37 AM Requiems Previous Entry :: Next Entry Mood: Tired |
From time to time, I make noises about collecting requiems of the world, in order to compare and appreciate them. Faure, Mozart, Akira, all good things. Of course, there's an Andrew Lloyd Webber requiem, too. Darkness always comes. But still, the closeness of forms, the commonality of the occasion, I always think, makes it a perfect topic for analysis. All of the categorizing and sorting is done for you, you just get to appreciate, get your daily dose of memento mori, and point out why and why all of them are different anyway. And what's not to like about death?! :> |
