So, thinking about travel and whatnot, and I really don't know what to make of this:

"Credit rating agencies have downgraded Japanese government bonds to below those of Botswana. Yet why doesn't the yen depreciate?"

-- Prime Minister Koizumi

Err... This seems... odd. Granted, cheap yen are convenient for me, and make my dollars competitive against a higher standard of living, but... I don't think other countries really ought to be managing their economies for my sole convenience. Honestly.

But if the dollar spiked against the yen in late November, massively, I wouldn't complain.
