Guruzilla's /var/log/knowledge-junkie ["the chatter of a missionary sysadmin"] 2003-07-15 7:01 PM politics redux Previous Entry :: Next Entry Mood: grumpy |
{ Now playing: various mp3s, "aggro-spring" Recent movie: Gojira 2000****; X2: X-Men United****; League of Extraordinary Gentlemen***; Farscape, I.11**** Recent books: Deuteronomy; Philippians; Schlatter, The Theology of the Apostles; Thomas Alan Harvey, Acquainted with Grief: Wang Mingdao's Stand for the Persecuted Church in China; John R. E. Bliese, The Greening of Conservative America; Alan Moore and Kevin O'Neill, The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen (Vol. 1); Chie Nakane, Japanese Society; Kang Chol-Hwan, Aquariums of Pyonyang: Ten Years in the North Korean Gulag; } After a conversation w/ piscis about my commenting on politics, I've rethought how I want to do this. Since I'm the kind of pretentious sonuvagun that can't resist getting my shots in on stuff, I think I'll experiment with saving up links and doing a summary wisecrack on a bunch of political stuff at once. Then I get it out of my system, and get to wait for things to develop (for things like the CapitolHillBlue story unfolding last week). Saves me having to make retractions, see? Like the book reviews experiment, we'll see how it works out. Am a lot closer on the Harvey review; have about the first third or so of that done already. We'll see if I get it done between dinner and All-Star Game tonight...
