Yes, layoffs in the Steel City:

Following Murphy's news conference, Jeffrey Vesci, president of the paramedics union, lambasted the mayor.
"This man [Murphy] has no honor," Vesci fumed.

Good times, man, good times.

For those of us just tuning in, apparently if you've lived here long enough you already know all this already. Which still doesn't explain why the local press and media were so nonchalant as the crunch approached, and are now spinning this all as a surprise... (Arrgh.)
