The problem with being paranoid is the jury-rigged traps strewn around after the fact can really bite hard. Now, mind you, I'm happy to have a network that wasn't bitten in the hindquarters by various MS Worms(tm), but AAARRRGGGHH. Mind you, all this only matters insofar as Very Important Servers are Across The Street and in wholly different networks, hooked up to lots of things with the dreaded Hard-Coded IP Address Syndrome.
