The Japan Times had the most depressing headline on a bittersweet announcement from this week: Godzilla to join unemployment line".

Toho's official announcement of "Godzilla: Final Wars" comes with the news that there will be another indefinite hiatus for the King of the Monsters. (Details through the always indispensable Monster Zero News, including translation of various news pieces. CNN has a poof AP blurb with backgrounders. MDN has original coverage.)

Happy news from the annoucements include "location shooting in New York, Shanghai and Paris". w00! With 10 other monsters, a slew of locations, a known director (as Kaneko for GMK), and rumors of American teams doing SFX, it should be a good time. And, perhaps my future spawn can grow to an age to enjoy the next generation of films...
