2005-10-18 6:29 PM favourites One of the most difficult things about not believing in a god is having no one to thank when you feel the desire to express gratitude. I know, I know - it's an old joke but it's true for me today.
Here's a secret (I think. Have I said this before?) - I thank stars. You already know I wish upon them and talk to them and recite poetry to them.. so perhaps it's not a surprise to you that I thank them. I have a million words I could use to try and explain this to you, in a haphazard attempt to make it make sense. But I'm not going to bother trying. They are not god-proxies, I am not expressing a faith. I do not believe they exert influence on my life in any way. I'll just say I thank them and leave it at that. And if it weren't overcast, tonight I'd be in the backyard, being grateful. Wanna know why? ..well I'm not telling. Not yet. soundtrack: Zucchero - Dune Mosse (feat.
