Flytrap Poetry Update

By the way, I spent pretty much all of last night reading through poetry subs and narrowing the field a bit. I have now sent out one round of rejections (well, two if you count the ones I sent out around the beginning of October). If you haven't heard back from me regarding your poetry, that means I'm at least considering one or more of your poems for issue #2 of Flytrap. There's still a lot of cutting I need to do, though, so don't get too excited -- there are enough good poems to fill the issue three or four times over -- but you can take it to mean that I think your poetry is good.

I'm still having my crisis of conscious regarding rejecting people, though. I don't like to make people sad, so writing rejections is very hard for me. These last rounds of cutting I have yet to do will be very difficult for me, so it may take a few days yet before I get to write the fun-fun acceptances!

It's pretty cool, though, digging through the poetry and finding the gems. I read a bunch of them out loud to make sure they sounded as good as I thought they did. There was at least one that Tim heard and said, "Take it! Who wrote that? Take it!" Heh.

Most of these poets, I've never heard of. That's almost more cool than the good poetry by people I do know.

I'm babbling and probably being unprofessional. Anyway, thank you to everyone who sent me poetry for Flytrap #2. There's a lot of good stuff here!
