I'm trying to be good and update every day. Unfortunately, I'm not at all convinced my life is all that interesting, especially not this week.

Ah well.

For instance, last night I spent almost the entire night playing iPoker. I'm a terrible poker player, but with the help of this game, I might just finally be able to tell what beats what without consulting a crib sheet. I'm also figuring out the terminology, thanks to the digital dealer's voice calling the games. Right now, it only lets me play a 7 card version, but if I'm willing to pay $30 I can get hundreds of games, a tutorial, etc. Seeing as how I couldn't put the damn thing down last night, it might be a good entertainment investment.

Tim kept joking that soon he'd have to find me down at the Oaks club in Emeryville shouting, "GIMME ANOTHER CARD GODDAMMIT!" Heh.

The cats are on something. They eat anything, so I'm actually slightly concerned with their strange behavoir, but not to the point I'm dragging their furry butts into the vet. Last night I threw a candy wrapper on the coffee table and Marzi pounced on it as if it were a bug and proceeded to try and eat it. They both managed to fall off the kitty condo within about 10 minutes of one another (Zanzi didn't make the jump, held on with his claws until he pulled the thing over on himself; Marzi was sitting on top and leaned too far over to one side as she tried to clean her genitals, rolling off and landing on her side in her kitty cup on the floor.). This morning Marzi was walking around batting at the air as if she was getting tracers, then flopped on her side and proceeded to wash her face over and over again in a very "get the bugs off me!!!!!" kind of movement.

Yeah, right now it's funny :-)

So, right now I'm looking at the clock, waiting for the weekend. I had a great time at Hidden City, but I'm looking forward to a weekend without social responsibilities, I must say. Tim and I might take our laptops to a cafe. I hope to get through all the Flytrap subs, at least down to the possibilities for publication. I want to revise "Out of Season" (formerly known as "Gaia") and send it out. Get back to work on the novel. Revise "Skatebirding". Clean the bathroom, sweep the floors and reorganize the office and the medicine cabinets.

Yeah, as usual I have way too much to do in one weekend. Especially since I still feel crappy (and am deaf in my left ear). But, it'll be nice to get some of that stuff done. Should make me feel nice and accomplished.

Ta!
