I'm better now. Anyway, goodish weekend, though I do seem to be strangely blue lately. I think it's lack of exercise. Tomorrow, I'm doing yoga, dammit. I can hear out of my left ear again and I no longer have to make sure to take the cold meds on time so I can function, so hopefully It's time to get back in the gym, despite still having almost a week of antibiotics left to take. My body is cranky and sore and I'm really looking forward to stretching it out in a yoga class tomorrow, despite the bruise on my right knee which is going to hurt in some poses but oh well. Yeah. Let's see, well, the big news, for those of you who don't read Tim's journal, is that he made the Campbell ballot. This is, to put it mildly, a big deal. Maybe even a bigger deal than the Nebula nomination last year, if only because you're only eligible for the Campbell award for two years out of your career. My man rocks. Yup. Now, the hard part is trying to get that Friday off. Because we're going to North Carolina in August I won't quite have enough vacation time saved up, so I'm gonna have to beg. If that doesn't work, well, we'll have to fly in Saturday and fly out Monday, which will suck ass. That kind of timing will almost definitely make me sick. So, hopefully, I can sweet talk my bosses.... Man, I really resent my slacker immune system sometimes. So, in completely different news, we saw Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind on Saturday night. It rocked. It's fabulous. It made me cry (no, it's not a sad movie really, it's just me). It made me appreciate Tim even more. If you haven't seen it yet, go go go! On the way home we nearly got into a really bad accident on the freeway; right before our exit someone tried to merge or something and the next thing I knew there was a big swerving van directly in front of my car. Tim got to see first hand how calm I am in emergencies, as I slowed down, then pulled onto the shoulder once I was sure the van wasn't going to go careening off that direction. Nobody hit anyone else, actually, but there was a stalled car in the middle of the freeway with its blinkers on and at least three of us on the shoulder. After making sure we didn't need to stick around as witnesses, I drove home. I didn't freak out until we were parked and out of the car. Scary. I revised my Hidden City story, but after seeing Eternal Sunshine I decided my characters needed even more depth, so I have to do it again. Sigh. I didn't get anything else done, writing-wise, including Flytrap subs. I tried reading them in the hammock, but it was too cold, and once I came back in I got distracted by something else. Hopefully this week, I'll finish those. The cats have taken to sleeping on my feet under my desk as I work at home. Which is better than when they hang on the edge of the keyboard tray, meowing to be picked up. I'm getting pretty good at using the computer with a cat curled up on one arm; it's when they both want to be held that it gets tricky. That's it for now, I guess! Ta...
