Oof. Long week. The weather has slowly cooled off until I'm wishing I'd worn shoes other than sandals today, which is nice. Still too hot at night, though, at least inside our apartment.

Mom is in town this week, and, as usual, I'm not really seeing her enough. This is all my fault. Well, if Holly hadn't moved all the way to Richmond, I may have seen her a little more, but it's still mostly my fault. We all went to dinner last night, and I gave her an early Mother's Day present, which she really seemed to like, and she gave me a cookie sheet and frying pan I'd left in Indiana, along with some books of poetry. I got to see the woogie (my nephew Aleister) who is running all over the place, being mistaken for a girl (his hair is long) and charming the pants off of everyone. He has that toddler slide/ wiggle out of your arms down pat, so when I tried to hold him I got my second upper-body workout of the night (I'd gone to the gym before dinner). Dinner wasn't really that long, so I'm glad I'm going to Holly's performance/ party on Saturday night so I can hang out with Mom a bit more.

What else? Well, the eating healthy thing is continuing very succesfully. On Tuesday, after I'd been doing it a week, I weighed in at 7 pounds less than I'd been the week before. Seven! That's a pound a day!! And, before you all lecture me that that's too much, let me assure you I've been eating a lot, just healthier! I really wish I'd changed my eating habits years ago, but it may just be that I'm finally old enough to handle this kind of discipline.

I have a busy, social weekend ahead of me, but I'm looking forward to all of it, which is good. Sometimes, when I have a lot of social obligations, it overwhelms me so that it's more a burden than fun. Not this weekend, though, at least, not yet!

I think that's it for now. I'm probably forgetting something, but I usually am.

Cheers!
