The skittering of the beads

Yesterday I woke up, did computer things, ate breakfast, filled a bottle with water and went out to buy beads. I'd been looking forward to this all week, because I was out of a couple of colors I needed and the good beading shops close before I can get to them during the workweek. I was seriously *excited* about bead shopping. Tim did not understand.

First bead shop was closed, even though they were supposed to be open according to the hours they listed. Second one was open, and I spent half an hour and way too much money on beads. Yes, I should buy these things on the internet, but I was impatient and shipping is slower than waiting for Saturday.

Long story short: this errand completely wiped me out. I was shaking and feeling worse by the time I came back. Yes, I should have known better, because the three days I went to work this week took a lot out of me and made me worse, but I wanted those beads, dammit!

I spent much of the rest of the day on the couch, watching episodes of 24 or listening to Life of Pi on the iPod and working on beading. I made bead things until my hands were cramped and I had to stop. I definitely have enough stuff now to jusitify asking for space at Wiscon; now I have to decide just how much space I'm going to need.

This is so fun. I love creating things. I love a completed story, yes, very much, but I almost love creating visual artwork more, because I can sit there and gaze at it and see the whole of it and be happy.
