I'm fine. It took me an hour to get from work to Kaiser Oakland. Tim met me at the BART station in Oakland, and stayed with me, which was nice. It was sort of lovely to lay down in a somewhat darkened bed, even if there were things strapped to my abdomen and lots of stuff going beep beep. Mostly it was just nice to get there and finally get to pee. My head kept hurting, but the baby started kicking again (which was really loud on the monitor until they turned the volume down), and he's fine, great, very healthy. Eventually, the doctor gave me two vicodin (despite my nervousness that painkillers that strong make me hella nauseous) and some graham crackers (I'd completely missed lunch) and said that since I had no other symptoms, and a history of migraines/ headaches, she wasn't worried. I tried to tell them this on the phone, but they insisted I come in. And, if it happens again? I get to come back in. Oh, and I'm told that it's likely to happen again because, well, I'm pregnant and you get more migraines when you're pregnant. I am very annoyed. The least she could have done was to give me some painkillers to go. And something to help with the inevitable nausea. When Tim and I left, the warm summer air felt like kitten fur on my skin. I was floaty and feeling less pain (which I didn't care about). And then, as we waited for our food to be ready (remember, I'd missed lunch, and by this point it's about 4 pm), the nausea hit. Thanks to the vicodin, I vomited today for the first time this pregnancy. Sigh. I guess I'll ask my OBGYN about this next visit (in a couple of weeks). In the meantime, I'll try not to stress about getting more headaches. Read/Post Comments (1) Previous Entry :: Next Entry Back to Top |
