This morning I read an email from an old friend thanking me for something that happened 20 years ago.

Far from making me feel old, it has made me feel grateful for all the lives that have touched mine and the experiences I have had in that time.

It is hard to believe that I am the same person that I was that day, but I know she is in there somewhere. She often gets caught up in the whirlwind, the frustration, the seemingly endless worry that life can be. But for today, because of the kind words of someone very dear, she is here and she remembers how it felt to be so new, so open, so innocent.

I hope she can stick around a while. We have some catching up to do.
