2007-03-20 1:55 PM Soundtrack I know I haven’t written anything of substance lately, but I can’t seem to muster the energy. So for now, here’s a fun little game that’s making the rounds on myspace…
IF YOUR LIFE WAS A MOVIE, WHAT WOULD THE SOUNDTRACK BE? Here's how it works: 1. Open your library. (iTunes, Winamp, Media Player, iPod, etc) 2. Put it on shuffle. 3. Press play. 4. For every question, type the song that's playing 5. When you go to a new question, press the next button. (Its more fun to listen to them all) 6. Don't lie and try to pretend you're cool. Opening Credits: Dead Wrong – The Fray Waking Up: Transona Five - Stereolab First Day At School: You Won’t Succeed on Broadway – Spamalot Soundtrack Falling In Love: Questions – Papas Fritas Fight Song: Gnarls Barkley – Storm Coming (This would actually work really well, especially if the fight scene was in slow motion at first. I could be wearing a long black coat that is whipping around in slow motion. I'd be awesome! This would be a good song to drive fast to, so I hope that my fight scene involves a car chase too.) Breaking up: If I Could – Jack Johnson (This is about a dying friend, so I have to object to this one. There are way better songs to stand in the rain to. At least, I assume I am standing in the rain after my big breakup. I must have broken up with John Cusack. Gosh, I hope we get back together.) Prom: My One and Only – Ella Fitzgerald (This is a great arrangement for prom – appropriately cheesy. And she sings about fear of rejection, which was pretty much the theme for my prom) Life: C-C-C-Cinnamon Lips – OK Go (If my life is this sexy, I’m doing pretty well) Mental Breakdown: Find Your Grail – Spamalot Soundtrack Driving: You and I Both – Jason Mraz Flashback: Out of Egypt, Into the Great Laugh of Mankind – Sufjan Stevens Getting Back Together: Brothers on a Hotel Bed – Death Cab for Cutie Wedding: You’ve Been Loved – Joseph Arthur (Since I am evidently getting married during this part of the movie, I should certainly hope so. But I would rather I was currently being loved, preferably by the groom. I’m not sure that’s what this song is saying. Nope. Not at all.) Final Battle: (Oh, this is too good) Embraceable You – Ella Fitzgerald Death Scene: The Seer’s Tower – Sufjan Stevens (Finally one that really works – it’s about looking down on the Earth from above and is appropriately melancholy. Quote: “Still I go to the deepest grave, where I go to sleep alone”. Whip out your hankies, guys, because evidently my movie is a tragedy.) Funeral Song: Transformer – Gnarls Barkley (I guess this means I am coming back. I’m like Jesus, but without the beard!) End Credits: You Were Right – Badly Drawn Boy (I love this song a whole lot, not a bad way to end. It even contains this lyric: "Songs are never quite the answer, just the soundtrack to a life, that is over way too soon" Plus, there is whistling!) Reading: Not much lately, but in theory I am still reading Lolita Hearing: You Were Right - Badly Drawn Boy Playing: Last night at rehearsal we spent a lot of time with a Mozart Piano concerto. Not a bad thing to spend some time with, really. Needing: Shhhhhhh. It's a secret. In My Car CD Player: Ten Big Ones - Janet Evanovich Read/Post Comments (1) Previous Entry :: Next Entry Back to Top |
