2007-06-11 7:18 PM Thinking Blog Awards Eric and me sitting in a tree, b-l-o-g-g-i-n-g.
Okay, so the meter is off a bit. :) A few days ago, I received one of the nicest compliments ever, from Barbara Klaser. She anointed Eric & me with Thinking Bloggers Awards. You will find Barbara's link and my awardees, above. Here’s what Barbara had to say about Eric and me: Eric Mayer at Byzantine Blog is co-author, with his wife Mary Reed, of the Byzantine era historical mysteries featuring John the Eunuch. I follow Eric’s blog for his witty observations and childhood reminiscences, and for the combined seriousness and humor, in just the right places, with which he views life and his part in it. Both his essays and his fiction are well worth reading. Irene Fulton at Reenie’s Reach epitomizes to me the preservation of childish enthusiasm, especially in her artwork and writing, but in real life as well. She has apparently passed this effervescent trait on to her children, along with her good looks. Reenie used to live in my neighborhood, where I met her and Bev through the same local writer’s critique group. She now enthuses all the way from Tennessee. (Why is everyone migrating to the South? Do y’all know somethin’ I don’t?) So, with no more fanfare, here are my awards: Netta: Netta blogs nearly every day. Her posts are like page-turners to a best selling novel. Her *story* is character driven with lots of characters. :) She blends suspense, comedy, horror, romance, and family saga with pitch perfect dialect. Stay tuned… Rhubarb: She is the brainiac I read. She’s smart in all venues, especially heart and sardonic wit. Of note, the very moment I don’t agree with her viewpoints, I always have an *aha* moment. She’s a rare breed – always right, on target, bingo-perfect. She renders me humble – in all good ways. Randomthoughts: Rarely are his thoughts random despite his moniker. His posts are marbled with tenderness to the bone. I chew on his wisdom and become a better person for it. :) His elaborate emotions always funnel toward goodness. His eccentricity matches mine. We are two peas in a cramped pod, yet we wrench our necks, our hearts, to smile at each other. xoxo Electric Grandmother & Kentucky Pine. These two splendid women tie for my 4th award choice. Both speak with wisdom – one with youthfulness, the other with the advantage of advancing years. Do not be fooled by their monikers. :) I learn from both. Truthfully, I’m an elitist – I read only the best :) Heyelsa, Smartiplants, Mama Lisa, Sir Cloudy, Babs, Phoeniceus, Taerkitty, Dfaz, Harmonium, Outtamyhead, Wanaki & Sue. I am short on time, but will add their links tomorrow. xoxo Read/Post Comments (14) Previous Entry :: Next Entry Back to Top |
