My youngest was in Mrs. Dunlap's AP class. He's 27 now. He studied undergraduate at Cornell University where he was a member of Quill & Dagger and the recipient of numerous honors to include during his senior year being named one of the top 25 most influential Cornellians. He worked at Walker Digital as a Think Tank Intern developing a patented medical compliance system, and worked in DC for the Honorable Christopher Cox as a Press Secretary Intern. He taught in Washington DC with Teach for America and earned a Masters of Education from George Mason University (with a specialty in Special Education), and recently spent a summer in Germany as Army JAG Intern... and this list doesn't even begin to touch the in-betweens and what he's currently doing at Washington & Lee School of Law. Given all this, the people to come most frequently to mind when he talks about influences in his life will be his teachers. Several years ago he was back in Laguna Beach and visited with Mrs. Dunlap. His respect for her has no boundaries. This is also true for his mentor while in Teach for America whom he's visiting this weekend. I know I was a good parent, but also know that some of the very most important learning in David's life came in a classroom with amazing teachers he'll never forget.
