2013-05-15 12:15 PM Birds of a Feather Below is something I wrote for my three beautiful children. My note accompanied three paintings - each depicting beautiful birds of various and vibrant colors. I'll be posting more about David's graduation and our amazing, seamless, flawless reunion, but I thought I'd start here. ********************* BIRDS OF A FEATHER You're part of a large and varied species. In your flock, there are eagles and geese and turkeys and owls and swans and wrens and mockingbirds and loons and hawks and doves and cuckoos. Did I mention loons? There are these and so many more. You are a member of a large flock that is noble and silly and wise and loony and cuckoo and beautiful and shy and so much more. You were hatched in the same nest. Always remember that. Seasons come and seasons go, but remember that you are Birds of a Feather and should always flock together. Throughout life you may migrate to different places and geography may separate you. There will be occasions in your lives when feathers are ruffled and spats may divide you. But always, always return to one another. It's the law of nature. It's instinctive. Every time you look at your painting, remember this time we've had together and that you've always been perched in my heart and that you were loved so very much.
