2013-09-16 8:09 PM Maintenance & Fine-tuning Yesterday was a productive day by my accounts... even by David's. We scrubbed down portions of the front porch as well as changed Copyright's attire to reflect the upcoming season. (I know it's a tad early, but the availability of the assist was a determinant.) We also rearranged some canvases to make room for new ones. Below is an oddball composite of pics.
This is Copyright dressed for the season. She got her name from the flea market seller/vendor. As I was writing the check, I asked if she'd ever name the mannequin. The vendor responded with a distinctive mountain twang, "I didn't need to name her 'cause she came with a name on the back of her neck." Hence, Copyright. (one of my favorite mountain stories) This is the door David scrubbed. It gets all musty and grungy with summer humidity. This is a sculpture I acquired about 3 years ago. I loathed it from the moment it arrived. I hide much of her because her features are most unappealing. I should post an uncovered version to prove my point. I relocated her to make room for the last of my geraniums. These are the last of the geraniums - those not gobbled up by the herds of deer that roam where I live. This is the first painting I ever did about 2004ish. I used a photo from a trip to the Tetons. This is a later painting I called *The Hills have Eyes*. These two are new paintings I put on my walls yesterday. They are by Nancy Denommee. I have several of her paintings I've dreamed of having a Missionary Mary Proctor for years. It was dumb luck that I stumbled across this one far below market value on Ebay. I'm thrilled. So that's it for now. Nothing too exciting. Maintenance and fine-tuning.
