2014-10-31 6:37 PM Happy Halloween! The following are various photos taken over the years on Halloween. I was going to post more photos, but I'm a bit tired tonight and I think I give a good overview - though missing the KCMO clan.
Chase and Rachel circa 1980 I've always enjoyed this photo of them. And look at that HGTV kitchen! White appliances! A dishwasher on wheels! A Chamber's gas stove! Patchwork linoleum with black tacks! We were a cutting edge family... and I cherished it all so much. I loved our *old* kitchen. It was cozy. While we decorated and renovated other portions of this home, I had no inclination to update the kitchen... except to pull up the linoleum to refinish the marvelous wood hidden beneath. It was an old rambling family home. In the background is the maid's room and bath. The dining room had a foot bell at the head of the table - to summon the staff. I imagine future owners knocked down walls to create a larger space for in-kitchen dining. We shared our evening meal in the dining room - with candles and cloth napkins and conversation. David & Abby 2012 And then we have Chase, my eldest, who just posted this Halloween photo. Good heavens. Then of course there were my years in Laguna Beach where my group of friends celebrated Halloween with an annual gathering Halloween in Laguna Beach, CA circa 1995 I met with a group every morning for coffee at the Zinc Cafe on Ocean Avenue. We were a close group, much larger than these photos depict. We moved as a pod to events in town. We were an eclectic, zany group - and had lots of fun! This photo includes a professor, a neurologist, a personal secretary, a TV producer/writer, a tech sales person. We were an interesting bunch!
