I am listening to the new Kidneythieves album Zerøspace at the moment, and it absolutely rocks. It's industrial-type metal, and has an amazing woman lead singer and lyricist, Free Dominguez, with music by Bruce M. Somers. Good stuff.

I am also currently reading Was by Geoff Ryman, a book I was assigned to read during John Kessel's Fantasy survey class at NCSU, but one I never finished. And after looking at it sitting sad and alone on my bookshelf all these years, I decided to give it another try, and I'm constantly astonished at how fantastically good the writing is. I can't fathom why I never finished it in the first place; the only thing I can think is that since it was optional reading, and I had a bazillion other things to do that semester, that if it wasn't absolutely neccessary, I didn't do it. But I'm making up for it now. It's an amazing novel.
