I now can tell when I haven't had enough water.

I can feel my kidneys.

Maybe I always could, but until the kidney stone, I didn't realize it. Now I do. It's not an ache or a pain. I can just feel them. My left more than my right, which I suppose is related to that being the one where I passed the stone.

So, if I've been drinking too much Diet Coke, and not enough just plain water, or just not enough of anything, I can tell. Don't even need a bathroom trip to be aware.

There's an uneasiness; I'm not even sure how to describe it properly. But I can feel them down there.

And it's time for a watering.
