I'm grateful to all the luck that has made the first 3 months of childrearing survivable.

I've been very lucky to have relatives come sit for a few hours so we can sleep, or even, like a miracle, catch a movie.

I've been indebted to friends who'd come by to visit and bring dinner with them so we didn't have to cook, or brought giant bags full of hand-me-downs so we didn't have to buy so many outfits that only last a few months.

I'm thankful for Netflix to bring us things to watch at home when we can't leave the house, and appreciative of the local Italian restaurant that delivers us the odd dinner or two when were desperate for time and food.

And I'm most greatful above all things for the hours between 12 and 4 am when everyone in the house is asleep.
