2007-10-03 5:11 AM Year's Best Fantasy and Horror It's nice to see that a handful of authors from the anthology Samantha Henderson and I put together last year received Honorable Mentions in this year's _Year's Best Fantasy & Horror_.
_From the Trenches_ garnered the following Honorable Mentions: Kameron Hurley, “Wonder Maul Doll” Anil Menon, “Harris on the Pig: Practical Advice for the Pig Farmer” Pati Nagle, “Dawn’s Early Light” Mikal Trimm, “Vera Lynn Sings for the Boys” Steve Vernon, “Under the Skin, Under the Bones” In addition, a story I wrote for Interzone, "Ten With A Flag," also garnered an Honorable Mention, under the name of John P. Haines. Yeah, John. But you know, seeing as it's my first Honorable Mention in a Year's Best Anthology, I'm not going to quibble too much. Congrats to everyone above! It was a joy to work with these authors and they really did come through with fabulous stories. Joseph Haines, signing off from The Edge of the Abyss.
