All kinds of publishing news out there. The cup for this week probably has to go to Mike Jasper who apparently just called some guy up and said, hey, you wouldn't be interested in publishing a book of my stories, would you?

And the guy said "sure" and an hour later there's a title and a pub. date, and even a cover mockup. Holy crap!!

Mike, you do realize this is why we all have to wade through spam and telemarketers, right?

And then there's various people announcing Flytrap #2 acceptances: Jenn, David Moles, Sarah Prineas, others I've probably missed.

Since Tim hasn't actually posted the list yet, there is a certain Willy Wonka quality to this as various people pop up to announce that they've found one of the golden tickets.

Well, I've got a golden ticket. My story, "You're Never Insane Girl Twice," will be appearing in Flytrap #2. Go me.

Of course I didn't find out about this until late last night when I finally could take it no more and e-mailed Tim. My acceptance was one of those that went off into the e-sargasso. A disturbing number of important e-mails, both to and from me, have simply vanished lately. I'm not sure what the problem is, but it's bugging me.

Still, better late than never. And you know, now that I think about it, Tim would make a really good Willy Wonka.
