2005-11-03 10:36 PM Sleep, Guitars, Plotting and NaNoWriMo - Day 3 Read/Post Comments (2) |
First of all, I had an awesome night of sleep last night. I was gone within seconds of my head hitting the pillow and didn't stir until 5:30am, when my wife asked me if I was getting up. The alarm had gone off once, at 5am, but I turned it off when I tried to hit snooze -- without waking up. I worked from the Pleasanton office today, and it actually got a little busy around lunchtime. I managed to get in some wordage on some story ideas and was getting ready to start on the novel, when my friend, Matt came down with his guitar. We went to a conference room and practiced guitar for a couple of hours. Actually, I practiced, Matt played some Satriani. I think I am going to sign up for and start lessons tomorrow. I had a hard time working on the novel tonight. I'm up to a scene that I believe needs to change, but I am not sure how to change it, or for that matter if it really does need to be changed. It's a semi-pivotal scene upon which a few later events will depend. Not wanting to stall progress, I plowed ahead, altering the scene slightly, but leaving the deleted part intact (in italics) in case I need it back. I feel better for getting in the words, but something is nagging at my mind. And I'm having trouble deciding what should happen next (of three or four possibilties). We're not supposed to do any plotting during NaNoWriMo, but I might have to. Read/Post Comments (2) Previous Entry :: Next Entry Back to Top |
