NEW YEAR'S RESOLUTIONS? BAH!

So here we are 3 days into the new year and all around me I hear people talking about their "new year's resolutions." What happened to your last year's resolution? Oh thats right, we drank, smoked, and ate them into oblivion. New Year's Resolutions are silly. No one ever keeps them. They just depress everyone by making them feel like big fat failures. Come on now! Thats what high school was for!

No one ever makes resolutions to be nicer to the annoying kid at work or overtip the waitress at your favorite resturaunt. No, we all make resolutions that focus souly on the superficial. You don't need trimspa or a new hair cut. A box of hair dye and a salad are not going to make you a better person.

What's my New Year's Resolution? To break other people's New Year's Resolutions. And maybe make them realize it is okay to be who you are! As long as your not hurting yourself or someone else what the hell? Live your life! No one gets out alive anyways so what difference does it make?

Instead of making a resolution that makes us miserable, if we are going to insist on making one, why don't we make ones that make us feel better about ourselves and the people around us? Like "One a day I will find something I like about me/the annoying kid at work/my mother in law." So rethink your New Year's Resolutions. Are they going to make you feel like you are in 7th grade again with glasses and braces while the girl with the greasy face and pigtails throwing spitwads at you? If the answer is yes, change your resolution to something that will make you feel like homecoming queen/king. Try it. Even if you stop after 3 weeks, at least you made the annoying kid at work feel better for a little while by saying more than Hi and your waitress may have really needed the extra two bucks you threw on the table. What were you going to do with those two dollars anyways? I bet that will make 2005 a much better year.

Attack life, it's going to kill you either way.
